Julión Álvarez is a Mexican singer and songwriter born on April 11, 1983 in La Concordia, Chiapas, Mexico. He is known for his regional Mexican music style, primarily in the banda and norteño genres. Alvarez has released over 20 albums throughout his career including "Corazón Mágico," "El Aferrado," and "Mis Ídolos, Hoy Mis Amigos!!". He has won numerous awards including several Premios Lo Nuestro and Latin Grammy nominations. In 2017, Julion Álvarez was involved in a controversy involving the Mexican government, which accused him of having ties to a drug cartel. As a result, many of his concerts were cancelled, and he was dropped by his record label. However, in 2018, the Mexican government dropped the charges against Alvarez due to lack of evidence.
